Show Band Drill Sample

Banda Salesiando Don Bosco

San Jose, Costa Rica

SHOW BAND DRILL - The second movement within a "show band" style drill ends in a concert-band-style formation with members of the color guard brought to the front sideline.  This allows directors the flexibility to pick and choose any number of songs to perform and interchange as the third movement color guard feature.

This is Banda Salesiano Don Bosco's 2020 WGI Winds production, "Codes."  The drill was deisgned and produced by Marching Arts, Inc. CEO, Peter Gomez, and was written by Ten-Hut Production's owner/CEO, Patrick Baldwin, who is also an MAI artist.  Music was written by GPG Music - Gary P. Gilroy and Phil Vallejo.  Banda Salesiano Don Bosco will be performing at the WGI Winds Championships in Dayton, OH, on April 18-19, 2020.

Pyware Social Distancing Challenge

Top 10 Finalist

In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, Pyware sponsored a Social Distancing challenge in the Spring of 2020 where the drill had to be written in such a way that all performers maintained 6 ft. distancing from one another. I was fortunate enough to have my drill selected as a Top 10 drill!

While I was not selected for overall Top 3, this meant that my drill ended up as a Top 3 choice of at least one of the illustrious judges: Michael Gaines, Kevin Nix, Bob Buckner, and Tim Fairbanks. There were a total of 75 entries! This was a fun opportunity during these trying times, and I am so happy to have the honor of being in the Top 10!
